I adore this CD. I do not know who chose the tracks from "Short Trip Home" to be included here, but I suspect it was double bassist Edgar Meyer, the producer of the original recording and also the composer of most of the material except for Joshua's solo in "Death By Triple Fiddle," which he wrote himself. Whoever chose the tracks from the earlier CD is a man after my own heart, for he chose my three favorite tracks. If you like bluegrass like I do, you really ought to order this CD, for it also features the incomparable fiddling of Mark O'Connor in many of his own compositions also. If you have seen the movie "Music of the Heart" which is about the Harlem, New York violin school and features many very famous musicians in the finale (including Joshua and Mark O'Connor), then you will have seen O'Connor at work in his trademark fedora. Before all those really big names in classical music come onstage, O'Connor plays the "Orange Blossom Special" accompanied by the students. If you have the 2-CD set of the movie, the second CD features an outtake of Joshua playing the same piece with O'Connor. He stands next to Mark but facing in the opposite direction so that their violins are parallel and Josh can watch Mark play. It warmed MY heart because I have heard the piece many times before. My dad was a big fan of bluegrass and country music. Check out this CD!
