One of Joshua’s favorite collaborators is cellist Steven Isserlis. Joshua joined Isserlis in London recently for a performance at Wigmore Hall, as part of Isserlis’ three concert residency. The Guardian referred to their performance together as the “highlight of the series."

Joshua is preparing for his 2011 winter recital tour, accompanied by British pianist Sam Haywood. Joshua discussed the upcoming tour in a podcast interview with Brian Newhouse of American Public Media, which has been posted here on the website. Joshua will be performing works by Brahms, Schubert and Grieg.

While Joshua is often referred to as a “Grammy Award Winner,” and “Classical Music Superstar,” a new title has been added: “Member of the Board.” Recently Joshua and Itzhak Perlman were named as a board member of the New York Philharmonic for an indefinite term. Both artists will serve in an advisory capacity with full voting rights, without a mandatory financial obligation.

Joshua was the featured guest soloist for the 2010 Nobel Prize Concert in Stockholm on December 8. Sakari Oramo conducted the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. The program included: Beethoven: Leonore Overture, Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D major and Sibelius: Symphony No. 5.

Speaking about the power of music, Joshua’s music has been a source of comfort and healing to Vietnam Vet and artist Steven Gates. So much so, that Joshua was the subject of a pastel drawing by Steven which won first prize in a competition that was sponsored by the Minneapolis VA facility.
