Well, after waiting years for him to come to the area; and 6 months since I bought the tickets (which was a good move because the concert sold out three months ago!), I finally got to see Joshua perform tonight!

The concert was amazing!! He is such an incredible player - such emotion and passion comes through - it was just.... ah! I can't even describe it! Our seats were killer too - so close; but far enough back you could see everything. And we lucked out that two kids were sitting in front of us (very well behaved I might add) so there was no trying to see over some-one's head!

The main piece he played was Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64. He also played Tchaikovsky's None But The Lonely Heart and Corigliano's Gypsy Cadenza (from The Red Violin). The YSO also played Brahms Symphony No. 4 in E minor; but he wasn't part of that (but it was still wonderful!).

He was gracious enough to sign autographs, so I got my CD booklet signed - I said to him "Congratulations on becoming a Daddy!", and his face just lit up and he said "Thank You!" He seemed quite surprised that anyone said anything - I know it's been kept pretty low-key; and none of the articles in the local media (that I saw) leading up to the concert mentioned it.

Thank you Joshua for a wonderful show! Please come back soon!
